Rachel and Martin

Rach and Martin came to visit me in Eastbourne last weekend. I've known them both since university in Leicester (It scares me to think that it is nine years since we graduated!) They are getting married this summer and I am to make their wedding rings.

I was a little bit surprised when I opened my front door only to find Martin filming the whole momentous occasion - I guess he doesn't want to miss a thing! As the sun was shining, for what seems like the first time this year, I took them for a walk down to Eastbourne seafront. We had worked up a good appetite so rewarded ourselves with fish and chips from Odyssey Chip Shop - lovely! After a quick pyjama stop in M&S, then we went for a coffee. A Fine day was had by all.

We eventually got around to designing wedding rings when we got back home, Martin proved to be more difficult customer than Rach -now there's a surprise ;0)) But we came up with a really nice idea. Rachel knew what she wanted, something with a twist to fit in with her engagement ring.

So, it is just a case of me making them. . .

This is Rachels engagement ring. Platinum, set with pink and white diamonds.

The wedding rings will be revealed at a later date. Watch this space.

Exhibion at Sandown (Esher) this weekend.

Today I have set up my blog, I also have fixed a platinum and diamond engagement ring which needed a bit of TLC.
It's been one of those funny days where you seem to do a bit of everything and before you know it the day is done.
I'm exhibiting my work at the Emigrate exhibition at Sandown in Esher, this weekend. So I've been getting all my jewellery and display ready. I like to do shows, as I get to speak to lots of people and tell them all about what I do. I will be doing a free design service whilst there, so if people can't think of what to have made, then I can give them inspiration.
I have just ordered some jewellery boxes, so I can package away nicely all the pieces of jewellery I am hopefully going to sell.

Lee and Jo's Engagement Ring

This is an engagment ring I made for Lee and Jo last year. It is set with two blue sapphires and one princess cut diamond.
It is made from Palladium, which is a metal similar in colour to Platinum and is nearly as hard wearing.
It is a great alternative to platinum for this kind of design.
Lee and Jo are getting married this year, so I wish them all the best with their plans.
